Organizing content intuitively is more important than having all content accessible from the top level of navigation. I explain why in this audio post.

The problem is how to index and rank better in search engines ?
The answer is : minimize the number of clicks… I think this is why all popular websites have so long footer.

Thanks for your comment, Nicolas.

There may be evidence to suggest that minimizing clicks improves SEO, but I’d bet that the improvement is minimal in comparison to other SEO factors, such as content quality, keyword inclusion, and reputation.

In any case, I’m of the opinion that websites should be designed for people, not for search engines (something that Google themselves have always advised).  The only things you should be concerned about for SEO is having well-written code and great content, then search engines will find you.
